Aboriginal Man

Exceptional cdv of an Aboriginal man.   We are not sure if this man was native to Australia or part of the Maori culture of New Zealand.  The only identification is a pencil inscription on the back that reads Coolie which was used in the 19th century to describe an unskilled worker.  However, this was generally a derogatory term for someone from Asia or India.  In either scenario this is a spectacular character study.  His face is quite fascinating with his large white beard and piercing stare.  He holds a large walking stick ready to go on a “walkabout” at a moment’s notice.  The image is in excellent minus condition with great tones and contrast.  There is some spotting in the negative on the top as seen.  $100
